JANE BASSETT LEWIS: Biography

An artist / educator, Jane Bassett Lewis holds a B.S. degree in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and an M.A.T. in Creative Arts from Bridgewater State College. She is currently a part time visiting lecturer in the Art Education Department at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth.

She taught art for 38 years in public schools in Massachusetts and was an Art Supervisor for 27 of those years, most recently in the Taunton Public Schools before retiring and teaching at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Jane has also held part time art teaching assignments in design at Newbury College and various adult education programs. She has also worked as a graphic designer for an area advertising company.

Her art work has been exhibited at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Bridgewater State College. Her prints and watercolors are in private collections. She is listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers She maintains a home studio on the southcoast.
