SHEILA OLIVEIRA: Biography
Sheila Oliveira received her Master of Fine Arts – Visual Design/Studio Photography from the University of Massachusetts in 1996. She has been a Lecturer in the Department of Design teaching courses in film and digital Photography since that time and Digital Typography at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA. In addition to joining the faculty she is a professional photographer and graphic designer working for art galleries and local publications. Oliveira believes in bringing art and art education to the community. She is Curator & Gallery Director for the Greater Fall River Art Association and serves as Chairman of the Rehoboth, MA Local Cultural Council, (an agency of the MCC) a grassroots cultural funding network that supports community-based projects in the arts, humanities and sciences. Her work is part of the corporate collections of St. Anne’s Hospital and Heritage State Park in Fall River, MA as well as numerous private collections.
