Faculty Timothy Melbinger

Composer, pianist and educator Timothy Melbinger lives with his wife and cats in Natick, Massachusetts. His accolades include an Alea III award, a Copland House Award, an SCI student commission and a California Octagon Prize. His music can be heard on Centaur, Albany and Nine Winds Records. He recently completed a Ph.D. in composition/theory (on the music of Mel Powell) at Brandeis University, where he studied with Martin Boykan, David Rakowski and Yehudi Wyner. In addition to UMass Dartmouth, he has also taught at Harvard University, Brandeis University and Worcester State College.
