KURT WISNESKI: Biography
Kurt Wisneski received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his Master of Fine Arts degree, also in Printmaking, from Syracuse University.
He has actively exhibited both nationally and internationally. In 1988, his work was featured at the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw, Poland and at the Taller Galeria in Barcelona, Spain. More recently, he had a monoprint selected for the 1996 Minnesota National Print Biennial and another selected for Monotype 1996, a juried exhibition sponsored by Central Connecticut State University. Closer to home, Wisneski has had exhibitions at the Arnold Art Store and Gallery in Newport, RI, at the Neworld Bank Corporate Art Gallery in Boston, at the University of New Hampshire, and a one-person exhibition at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.
His work is included in the permanent collections of the Midwest Museum of American Art (Elkhart/IN), the University of New Hampshire (Durham), the University of Massachusetts Medical Center (Worcester), the Berkshire Museum (Pittsfield/MA), Appalachian State University (Boone/N.C.), Ernst and Whitney (Chicago/IL), and the Federal Reserve Bank (Boston/MA).
In 1995, Kurt published the book Monotype/Monoprint: History and Techniques. To date, It is the only published text that combines history and techniques.
