Tom Loeser’s (MFA ’92) workappeared on the cover of American Craft Magazine, Dec./Jan. 2009 issue, and was the subject of the main feature article.
Noted curator, Gail M. Brown reports Sarah Martin (MFA ‘04) had a 'spectacular' piece in the Next Iconoclasts exhibition, Jan.-Feb. ‘09 at Oregon College of Art and Craft.
Works by Jeremy Weis (MFA ‘03)were included in a group show at Gallery Naga in Boston Jan. ‘09. Among other notables in show were: Jay Stanger, Robert Brady, Randy Shull, John Byers, and former UMD Wood Program artist-in-residence ‘03-‘04, Leah Woods.
Karl Unnasch (MFA ‘03) has had numerous residencies with one upcoming in 2009 at the Sculpture Space Residency in Utica, NY.
Noted wood-turner, Michael Brolly (ABT ’06), is now teaching in a private secondary school outside Philadelphia. His work is included in a new book, Woodturning Masters published in March 2009.
Eric Foster (MFA ‘06) worked for more than a year for artist Jay Stanger helping him complete commissions and prepare for shows. Jay regularly exhibits with the prestigious Scott Jacobsen Gallery in New York City.
Duncan Gowdy (BFA ‘93) had a major exhibition in ‘09 at internationally-known Pritam and Eames Gallery in Easthampton, N.Y.
