The in-depth academic and studio education prepares students for many art and industrial career choices across the broad field of jewelry and metals.
BFA Alumni Activities 2008 - 2009
Chelsea Bird (’06) - Participant in Society of Crafts Mentorship Program in ’07, she exhibited in CraftsBoston national trade show, and has established her studio business.
Hannah Blount (’08) - Has been included as emerging artist in Aug. ‘10 New York Accessories trade show @ Jacob Javitts Center in NYC.
Sarah Burgess ('00) - MFA Cranbrook School of Art ’02. Was Artist in Residence ’03 @ Oregon College of Arts and Crafts. Lived in Berlin, Germany ’03-’04 + co-founded Takt Kunstprojektraum, an experimental art space. She’s since taught at Interlochen Arts Academy and Wayne State University.
Shawn Cambra (’05) - Works part-time as exhibit installer at Fuller Craft Museum Brockton, MA.
Brian Cherry (‘04) - formerly, exhibition installer at Shelburne Museum of Art Shelburne, VT.
Sarahanne Coggeshall (‘98) - formerly, part-time teacher at numerous art programs within New England: Metalwerx Studio, DeCordova Museum, and Fuller Museum of Craft.
Ed Colbeth (‘98) - Has taught at Metalwerx Studio, and is a computer programming consultant.
Lana Debettencourt ('98) - Works in an antique/jewelry store in Martha's Vinyard.
Jemesii Kaan Delande (’08) - Images of Jemesii’s work modeled by her appeared in Sept. ‘08 issue
of Boston Magazine, and Northshore Magazine Dec./Jan. ‘08-‘09 issue; continuing as free lance model for fashion clothing, and is producing concept based jewelry.
Jim Dowd ('94) - Co-owner (with MFA alum Sandy Bonazoli) of Beehive Kitchenware Company in Fall River, MA producing utilitarian objects for the kitchen sold through trade shows.
Melissa Dudley ('98) - Successful with high end jewelry sales ($10,000 pcs!) at Pageo Gallery in Nantucket, and produces custom work.
Katrina Eveslin (’02) - After completing their internship program, she works now in the Jewellery Department @ Sotheby’s Auction House London, UK.
Amy Galligan (’09) - Selected to show work @ CraftBoston ’10 trade show; a participant in Society of Arts and Crafts Mentorship program.
Jessica Hicks (BFA show ‘98) - Runs successful jewelry business Posh in Nantucket. Sells her production lines via stores and galleries. Recently, her work has been worn by some Hollywood celebrities and advertised in fashion magazines.
Jesse Horowitz and Leanne Silva (’05) - Together they’ve opened gallery/store on Cape Cod, The Jewelry Studio of Welfleet.
Leeza Khoury (’09) - Necklace made by her given as gift to the President of Portugal coinciding with visit to UMass Dartmouth.
Melissa McNichol (‘07) - Received $10,000 scholarship to attend Gemological Institute of America Program in Santa Monica, CA; is establishing setting a jewelry appraisal business.
Erin Myles (’04) - Has held several fashion jewelry design positions in Providence for teenage accessory lines at FDI Zone and Arden Jewelry w/ some designs produced for Urban Outfitters.
Jen Newman (‘02) + Arianna Swink (‘01) - They run a studio business together named ‘Tenacious Lily’ and market their work online and via home showings.
Jennifer O'Day Ashworth ('93) - Previously, worked for many years at Aurafin Corp., large mfg. co. in FL producing jewelry lines for ArtCarved and AuraGem.
Kirsten Pounder ('97) - Executed "Tree of Life" metalwork commission ($50,000 budget) for The Wynnewood Hospital, MA in ‘99. Works as a jewelry designer/modelmaker in Providence.
Melissa St. Amand (’02) - Won 1st Prize for necklace in Lapidary Journal magazine ‘02 competition. Participant in Society of Crafts Mentorship Program in ’06 exhibiting @ CraftsBoston trade show.
Lisa Sorenti (’00) - Jewelry Instructor for several years @ North Bennett Street School in Boston.
