Collections LUNA
Launch Date October 6, 2009.
What is the LUNA? VRC under the direction of the Art History Department and College of Visual Performing Arts is pleased to announce LUNA, UMass Dartmouth's newest online image and multimedia repository for instruction and learning.
Faculty and students may search, retrieve, save, display images, audio, video, and QuickTime files, and export them directly to PowerPoint, HTML, Wikis and myCourses. At this time, the repository includes a rich collection of images related to arts and humanities, but may extend eventually to other areas of study.
Why use LUNA?- 24/7 remote access to digital collections and presentations
- Ability to restrict or openly share digital collections and presentations with your colleagues and students
- Ability to export digital resources directly to PowerPoint, HTML, Wiki or myCourses
- Ability to search a specific collection or cross multiple collections
- High quality images and multimedia content
- Dynamic presentation tools including, zoom, crop, and manipulation features
Getting Started
- Disable Block Popups - Turn off block popup options on your preferred browser
- Launch LUNA
- Login - Click on login located in upper right corner of the LUNA page.
- Username & password - LUNA will request a username and password simply enter your email user name only (do not include @umassd.edu), your email password, and click submit. (The first time loading may take awhile, because of the size of the holdings. However, after the initial login LUNA should load quickly.)
- VPN Wireless - Campus wireless will require a VPN.
