Civil & Environmental Engineering  College of Engineering

Honors Program

Each year, outstanding civil and environmental engineering students are recognized at the University Honors Convocation. The student with the best academic record in civil engineering sciences receives the Allan Campbell Award for Engineering Science. The student with the best overall academic record receives the John Foster Award for Engineering Excellence. Students are also recognized for their participation in competitions such as the Concrete Canoe Race.

Students may also participate in the University Honors Program. To achieve this, they maintain a grade point average of at least 3.2 and complete 30 of their credits at the honors level (either by enrolling in designated honors courses, or developing their own program within a course through "honors contracts"). Upon graduation, successful candidates receive the distinction of "Commonwealth Scholar."
