The Computer Science Department holds an msdn liscense for students and makes its software available through an ftp repository. In order to access this repository from your laptop please follow the following steps
Note: Before you can access Windows machines you must be logged onto the Umass Dartmouth VPN network
Step 1: VPN Access

On your windows machines click Start > Run
Then enter:
\\cis-star.cis.umassd.edu\soft
Step 3
You will be prompted for your windows username and password.
In the username section place the following text:
UMD_CIS\windows_lab_username
The password is your Windows lab password.
