Important: Before you can access Windows Machines, you must be logged onto the UMass Dartmouth VPN network.

Step 1: VPN access

Step 2: Connecting to remote desktop

Step a: Connect to remote desktop by clicking All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Remote Desktop Connection.

Step b: Enter the computer name or IP address of the lab computer you wish to use. The CIS machines are named in the following format.

  • cis303-01
  • cis303-02
  • cis303-03
  • cis303-04
  • cis303-05
  • ...
  • cis303-25

Step c: Make sure you are connecting to the proper Domain UMD_CIS or cis.umassd.edu either is correct.
