The Computer and Information Science Department currently has three student organizations for the benefit of out students. They are:
- The Linux Users Group headed by Professor Ramprasad Balasubramanian
- The Game Design Club headed by Professor Iren Valova
- The ACM Programming Contest headed by Professor Xiaoqin Zhang
