Abstract: In this Project, a Graphical User Interface that presents the network's state and allows the user to effectively interact with the sensor network has been implemented .Sensor networks comprise a large number of low-cost miniaturized computers each acting autonomously and equipped with short-range wireless communication, limited processing and memory, and a physical sensing capability. Decisions in daily life are based on the accuracy and availability of information. Sensor networks can significantly improve the quality of the information as well as the ways of gathering it. The Wireless Sensors have the capability of measuring some important physical measurements like Light, Temperature, Pressure, Humidity, Sound etc. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a better means to illustrate the variation of particular measurement. A GUI developed in java reads the physical Measurements Light, Temperature and Battery Life from the sensors one at a time and displays the color according to its measurement. The raw data sent by the sensors has been collected and bytes for each measurement have been identified, converted into human understandable engineering units and displayed on the interface. The Application can be executed remotely taking the input of the IP Address of the server with the Serial forwarder program running on the server to forward the packets collected by the base station through the Internet.
