• Physics department to hold 2-day symposium
  In order to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy and to   highlight the new focus of the Physics Department on Computing and   Simulation, a 2-day symposium "Computing and Simulation in Astronomy   and Physics" is organized.
  
  
• Dr. Hsu participates in the 9th International Conference on Gravitation and Astrophysics
  Prof. J. P. Hsu presented a paper and co-chaired a session in the 9th   International Conference on Gravitation and Astrophysics in Wuhan,   China in July 2009.
  
  
• ECE Faculty Wins Grant to Study Microfluidic Platforms for Biosensors
  ECE faculty member, Dr. David Rancour, was awarded a research grant by the U.S. Small Business Administration to study the use of microfludics for biosensors.
  
  
• Physics Graduate Student Eric Holmes in Japan for Science Mission
  Physics Graduate Student Eric Holmes has reached Japan, and is now onboard R/V Natsushima with other scientists from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, MIT, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution to make measurements across the Kuroshio Front and fast moving Kuroshio current!
