Scholarships and Internships
A "high technology" scholarship/internship, which combines tuition waivers for engineering students with industry interships. This state program helps you cover the cost of college while adding practical experience to your education.
You can co-op...
You can also cover college costs and add an edge to your education
through the co-op program - spend one semester in the classroom
and the next on-the-job, at respected companies such as Bose,
Hasbro, Sun Microsystems, Gillette, and Titleist FootJoy.
You earn a considerable salary, and can apply what you've learned in the classroom to actual situations. You work on projects that are challenging and interesting. Students who have done co-op generally receive many job offers - at impressive salaries - upon graduation.
You can try something different...
- In our freshmen IMPULSE program, students work in teams and learn how engineering, physics, and calculus are all connected. Students learn from each other as well as their professors, who teach in a collaborative fashion. UMass Dartmouth is among a handful of schools nationwide that have pioneered IMPULSE.
- Engineering students have the chance to live togther in one of our new residence halls. Our "living and learning" communities recognize that engineering students have common interests, and can support one another academically and otherwise. A variety of activities are geared toward enginering students, including Career Building Seminars where you can talk with investors, entrepreneurs, and researchers.
- In our Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center (ATMC), students can work with businesses that are developing high-tech processes and projects for all sorts of ventures. At the ATMC, you're directly involved with technologically sophisticated projects, giving your education an extra dimension.
