SMaST Acoustical Signal Processing Laboratory

Description:

The Acoustic Signal Processing Laboratory studies the measurement, information content, classification and impact of underwater sound signals. The lab receives funding from the National Science Foundation and the Office of Naval Research. This research encompasses both man-made and marine mammal sounds propagating in underwater acoustic channel.

The lab is directed by Prof. John R. Buck, who holds a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and the School of Marine Science and Technology.

Much of the work is supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. 9733391 and the Office of Naval Research under Grant No. N000140010379.
