Nicholas Macedo, Bioengineering

After his freshman year, Nicholas began an internship with the Chemistry and Biochemistry department out of admiration for the department’s research. “I believed in what they were doing with anticancer and infectious disease control,” he said.

Able to work on his own in the lab, Nicholas’ favorite part of his research is the independence he has been granted. “The biggest benefit is simply being able to problem solve on your own, take initiative, and put your heart into it.”
