Thinking of a traditional engineering career? Interested in exploring emerging fields?
You'll be well-prepared for whatever path you choose. Our programs reflect the contemporary world of engineering: careers that are creative, diverse, challenging and rewarding (both financially and otherwise).
Undergraduate students have seven majors (Description of Majors) to choose from:
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science (with an option in Software Engineering)
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
All majors (except Bioengineering and Physics) offer a joint B.S./M.S. degree which allows students to complete both degrees in five (5) years. More information on the B.S./M.S. programs can be found on the respective department website. All degrees are accredited by ABET, Inc. Note: Bioengineering is a new degree and will begin the accreditation process after its first graduating class in 2015.
Not exactly sure which major is right for you?
Explore during your first year as an Engineering Undecided student. The first year curriculum for most majors within Engineering is very similar which allows undecided students some time before declaring. However, to be able to complete an Engineering degree within four (4) years, undecided students should declare their major as soon as possible (and no later than the third semester).

If you have a specific engineering track in mind, you should visit that department to speak with either the Department Chair or Faculty Advisor. Undecided engineering students can meet with the College of Engineering's Academic Advisor, Jennifer Murphy (email: email@example.com; phone: 508-910-6959; or office: Dion 319C) or the Associate Dean, Dr. Ramprasad Balasubramanian (email: firstname.lastname@example.org; phone: 508-910-6919; or office: Dion 326).
