UMass Dartmouth students registered for courses, or matriculated into a degree program, have access to FREE online eTutoring through the Math & Business Services and also the Writing and Reading Center.
Both tutoring centers are open weekdays until early evening for the convenience of day and evening students. Staffed by peer tutors, our services are used by both undergraduate and graduate students. It doesn't matter if you have only one question or if you need long term assistance in one or more areas; eTutoring exists to help students be successful at UMass Dartmouth.
Math & Business Center
The Math & Business Center offers eTutoring services for quantitative and business courses, including:
- Graphing calculator
- Summer seminars
Please email or place a phone call to the Math & Business Center. When contacting the Math & Business Center, please specify your student ID #, course title & the specific chapter that you would like assistance with. Please have your questions ready in advance and relay that you prefer to make use of eTutoring, so that the Center understands that you will not be stopping by in person.

Writing and Reading Center
The Writing and Reading Center offers students the unique opportunity to receive one-on-one tutoring with a trained and highly skilled peer tutor, covering a variety of subjects and skills across the disciplines. Topics frequently covered include:
- Literary analyses
- Research papers
- Business / Technical writing
- Thesis writing
- Study skills
- Exam preparation
- Note taking
- Planning a paper / outline
- Citing sources and citation styles
- Style, voice, clarity, tone
As a student you can make use of eTutoring.org, by logging in and selecting the UMASS Dartmouth option, typing in your UMassD username and password. Once you are logged into the eTutoring platform, you will be able to upload the document that you’d like to have reviewed. Once you have uploaded the document, please allow for a 48 hour response.
If you have additional questions or concerns, you can email or place a phone call to the Writing & Reading Center. When contacting the Writing & Reading Center, please provide your name, student ID # and the course that you are enrolled in. If you are making use of the eTutoring option, please relay your preference of eTutoring, so that the Center understands that you will not be stopping by in person.
