Tuition Policy for UMassD Day Students
Full-time Student (12 or more credit hours)
Full-time day school undergraduate students may register for University Extension courses and will be billed the full University Extension tuition rate if registering more than a week prior to the start of the semester.
Full-time day school undergraduate students registered for 12 or more credit hours and paying full-time tuition who register within a week of the start of the semester for an undergraduate University Extension course are eligible for a 50% tuition reduction during the Fall or Spring semesters only on a space-available basis.

The balance of tuition, $30 non-refundable registration fee and, if applicable, the $150 technology fee will be applied to the student’s invoice.

Fewer than 12 credits (day school)
Day school undergraduate students registered for fewer than 12 day school credits may register for any undergraduate University Extension courses; however, there will be no tuition adjustment and full University Extension tuition rates and fees apply.
Note: Grant funded programs, specially priced programs; directed study, independent study, international programs, technology fees, contract learning, and non-credit courses do not receive reductions. Senior Citizen Waivers
Effective June 1, 2009, Senior citizens (60 years or older) who are Massachusetts residents may register in credit courses tuition-free, the week before classes begin, provided that there is a sufficient number of tuition-paying students enrolled to bear the cost of instruction and provided there is space available. Please note that this senior citizen waiver does not cover the tuition for directed study, independent study, international programs, contract learning, and non-credit courses and does not cover registration, campus, college and technology fees. Proof of Massachusetts residency and birth date must be provided at the time of registration.
