Faculty Handbook

Mail/Delivery Services

Mail is delivered to the departments and distributed by the secretaries. Faculty are advised to hand-deliver any campus mail that needs to arrive at its destination immediately. Faculty may mail professionally-related material at the expense of the University by using an official envelope and putting your name and department on the upper left-hand corner. Since the budget for mailing is limited, please use this service only for professionally essential mailings.

The Group VI building is the central location for FEDEX pick up and delivery.

You are also encouraged to use the electronic mail on your computer..

Minority Student Services

Multicultural Support Assessment:
x8602 Administration Building

The Office of Minority Student Services provides a number of support services to the minority population at UMass Dartmouth. Retention is the primary function of this office. The services include counseling, academic assistance, academic and employment mentor programs, a minority scholarship fund and a peer counseling program. Minority Student Services has forums on racism, sensitivity workshops, as well as social and academic programs. We also direct programs in time management, study skills and stress management.

Faculty input is crucial in fulfilling our goal. We encourage faculty and advisors to contact this office regarding students who may face academic or personal problems. We are here to assist faculty in any way possible, to aid students in maintaining a successful undergraduate career.

"Destination...Graduation" is the theme of this office and is a constant reminder to students as to why they are here.
