Design the mechanical and electronic systems for a highly compact and highly reliable temperature measuring device that will transmit to a receiver several hundred feet away; to be installed under a firefighter’s coat to monitor body temperature and alarm on overtemp conditions.
Capstone Project: Portable, Radio Frequency, In Situ Soil Conductivity and Permittivity Measuring System
The goal of this project is to design, fabricate and test a portable (lightweight/ compact) and inexpensive system that can provide reasonable values of the soil’s constitutive parameters, conductivity and dielectric constant, using a small handheld battery powered Vector Network Analyzer.
