UMass Dartmouth Financial Aid

Welcome to UMass Dartmouth Financial Aid

Financing your education is one of the most important issues you and your family face. At the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, the Financial Aid Services Office is ready to work with you to help ensure success in your University financing plans.

We are pleased to provide you with this information as a means of explaining the wide variety of financial aid programs and services offered through Federal, state, and University sources. Many students receive financial assistance at UMass Dartmouth including grants and scholarships (which do not have to be repaid), loans (most repaid at low interest rates after graduation), and student employment (giving you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a University job).

In addition, the University has established the University Enrollment Center, a convenient "one-stop" office to answer questions and complete transactions concerning registration, billing, and financial aid.

The Financial Aid Services Office remains committed to providing you with excellent customer service, timely delivery of information, and sensitivity to your individual financial concerns. We are also pleased to act as your financial aid resource and information center. We look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals.

2010-2011 FAFSA Applications Available, Priority Deadline March 1

It is time to begin the 2010-2011 financial aid application process!

The 2010-2011 financial aid priority application deadline at UMass Dartmouth is March 1, 2010. In order to receive maximum consideration for financial aid for 2010-2011, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), must be filed by that date. If you have not completed taxes by March 1, you may use estimates.

The primary way to file the FAFSA is electronically at http://www.fafsa.gov. We recommend printing a FAFSA on the Web Worksheet to allow you to complete the FAFSA in draft form prior to going on line. The FAFSA on the Web Worksheet is available at http://www.fafsa.gov/before012.htm.

For new freshman/transfer students entering in Fall 2010: financial aid award notices will be mailed beginning in late March.

For students currently enrolled at UMass Dartmouth: Financial aid award notification will be sent to your University email address in early June for those with complete financial aid files. The email will instruct you to view your award on COIN at http://www.umassd.edu/COIN. You may also use COIN to view items on your financial aid "to do" list and get important updates.

Please contact the Financial Aid Office at 508-999-8643 if you have any questions.
