The granite bench placed at the edge of the Campus Pond provides a sitting place to overlook reflected sky and surrounding vegetation. Brides and grooms often come here to have their wedding picture taken in this serene landscape. Occasionally someone will come to try his or her luck at fishing. The granite bench was purchased with private donations and the pruned willow trees in the foreground are maintained by grounds personnel. Art students paint the pond landscape and biology students studying algae and invertebrates sample its waters.
