During the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 Academic Years, an ad hoc Gen Ed Task Force, formed by the Faculty Senate, reviewed the existing Gen Ed program and considered the possibility of a renewed curriculum. Their recommendation for a new gen ed program, called University Studies, was approved by the Senate in December 2010.
