The Gerontological Society
Who We Are
The Gerontological Society of Southeastern New England at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (the Society) is a non-profit, member-supported organization founded in 1995 as an outreach vehicle of the Ora M. DeJesus Gerontology Center (the Center). Today the Society works closely with the Gerontology Center to serve as a liaison between students, faculty, providers and consumers along with their families and caregivers, focusing primarily on gerontological interests and needs.

* Linking caregivers, families, consumers, providers, faculty and students
* Exchanging gerontological information
* Fostering opportunities in education and service
* Developing and updating professional skills

Membership:
Membership is open to any and all individuals interested in learning, developing, and disseminating gerontological information and advocating an environment that supports informed and successful aging.

We have tailored our membership dues to cover a broad range of participation.
Individual $15.00
Gives individuals, UMD students and faculty membersip the opportunity to vote, run for office, work on committees, and help direct the focus of the Society. For a list of current individual members click here.
Organizational $75.00
Gives organizations the opportunity to have membership for up to 10 individuals within the organization. Each of these members will have the opportunity to vote, run for office, work on committees, and help direct the focus of teh Society. In addition, Organizational Members will have a hyperlink to their organization's website. For a list of current Organizational Members click here.
The Society encourages donations from individuals who wish to ensure our continued success. These contributions are tax deductible.
