Limited Submissions

 

Limited submission programs are those in which the number of submissions per institution is limited by the sponsor.  When teh number of interested applicants is higher than the number of submissions allowed by teh sponsor, the institutions reveiw the proposals and select the ones to be submitted to the sponsor.

 

The Office of Research Administration will oversee the selection process.  Announcements will be made through UMD Announce and listed on the ORA website.  Preproposals are due in the ORA office by the date listed, generally 2-3 months prior to the agency deadline.

 

The preproposal should include at a minimum an abstract (maximum of 3 pages) describing teh project and how it meets the program goals and an estimated budget and justification.  The Office of the Provost will review the proposals and Principal UMD's criteria for selecting proposals to be submitted will include the impact of the scope of the proposal on UMD's science and educational goals, as well as meeting the criteria established by teh sponsor.
