Limited Submissions

Limited submission programs are those in which the number of submissions per institution is limited by the sponsor. When the number of interested applicants is higher than the number of submissions allowed by the sponsor, the institution reviews the proposals and selects the ones to be submitted to the sponsor.

The Office of Research Administration will oversee the selection process. Announcements will be made through UMDAnnounce and listed on the ORA website. Preproposals are due in the ORA office by the date listed, generally 2-3 months prior to the agency deadline.

The preproposal should include at a minimum an abstract (maximum of 3 pages) describing the project and how it meets the program goals as well as an estimated budget and justification. The Office of the Provost will review the proposals. UMassD's criteria for selecting proposals to be submitted will include the impact of the scope of the proposal on UMassD's science and educational goals, as well as meeting the criteria established by the sponsor.
