Changes to the EMail Server: March 15, 2004In an effort to prevent the spread of viruses on the campus and to decrease unauthorized traffic on our campus network, CITS is planning to implement authenticated SMTP. This means that EVERY individual sending email from a UMass Dartmouth email account will need to have a password. In order to move forward with this change, settings must be changed in each user's email client. CITS has created instructions to change these settings for both Eudora and Netscape mail users. This change will take place on Monday March 15. ALL users must make the changes to their email clients prior to March 15th or they will be unable to send email. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact the IT Service Center at x8790 or via email at itscenter@umassd.edu. |
