Resident Assistants (RA)
RAs represent Housing & Residential Education as key staff members in its day-to-day operations. As an RA, you’ll live in one of our residence halls and assist students with the transition to campus life. RAs have diverse responsibilities and must be able to balance several multidimensional roles, including active planner, helper, advisor, resource person, administrator and role model.
RA candidates are required to:
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.4
- Have no significant Code of Conduct violations
- Be enrolled as a full time, undergraduate or graduate-level UMASS Dartmouth student.
- Have completed at least one complete academic semester at UMASS Dartmouth by January 1, 2014.

We also require two (2) completed RA Recommendation Form 2014-2015 (PDF). The first form must be completed by a Residential Education staff member (current Resident Assistant or other member of the Housing and Residential Education; the second form must be completed by a current or former supervisor (either work supervisor or club/group/activity advisor). The RA applicant will print off the reference form, complete the top portion and then give the printed reference form to their reference. The individual completing the reference form must place the completed reference into an envelope, sign the sealed envelope and give back to the RA applicant. The completed application (completed online) and the two reference forms (in signed envelopes) should be turned in to Housing and Residential Education, located on the first floor of Oak Glen Hall.
