*Note, If you are a new international student or are an approved early arrival (athletics, ROC, etc.) you should  follow the move-in schedule that your sponsor has sent you.*

Immunizaiton Records
Immunization records must be up to date prior to arrival. This documentation must be mailed in no later than August 8th. After August 8th, you must fax or hand deliver immunization records to the Health Office by August 17th. After August 17th,  your name will be on the "not clear" list for housing. You will need to report to the Health Services Office on August 28th to be cleared to receive a key for your room. No exceptions will be granted.

Please Do Not Arrive Early

You will not be permitted to enter the staging parking lots until one hour before your scheduled arrival/check-in time.

Dashboard Arrival Day Permits

You must display the arrival day permit (mailed to you) on your vehicle dashboard when arriving on-campus. You will be placed in a staging parking lot upon your arrival and then called to your assigned building as soon as space is available near that building.  You can expect to wait with your vehicle as much as 1 hour. Please do not proceed directly to your hall until you’ve been directed to do so by traffic control personnel.

Unloading

When you arrive at your assigned building, stay with your vehicle while it is being unloaded.  The vehicle driver must move the unloaded vehicle to a space in one of the parking lots designated by the traffic control staff once it has been unloaded.  Unattended vehicles left in the Unloading Zones will be towed at your expense to an off-campus impound lot.

Student Check-in

While your car is being unloaded, proceed to the check-in tables in front of each residence hall to pick up your room key and complete a room/apartment inventory.  You will receive instructions at this time on hooking up your computer and logging onto the UMD server. If you are in need of an ethernet cord please inform your RA at check in and one will be provided to you for the academic year.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation for all new First Year Students will begin with a meeting in your residence hall on Thursday, August 28 at 8:00pm.  Your Resident Assistant will provide you with a location for this meeting and a full schedule of orientation.  New Student Orientation will run through Sunday evening, August 31.  All meals will be provided until the start of your meal plan.
