Director - Center for Access and Success

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Access and Success is seeking an individual to provide vision and leadership for the Center for Access and Success whose mission is to provide services for students with disabilities. The Director will oversee the department’s service, programmatic, personnel, and budgetary functions. In addition the Director will provide assessment of students seeking services, review and interpret individual education plans, and also develop, monitor, and evaluate individual accommodation plans for students with disabilities. Responsibilities also include providing consultation, collaboration, and training regarding access and accommodation issues for faculty, staff, and students. The Director will also ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as the University. In addition the Director will conduct individual counseling and support groups in self-advocacy skills and learning strategies for academic success. Masters degree in rehabilitation counseling, special education, higher education administration, college student personnel, or related field required. Demonstrated professional work experience in programs for persons with disabilities, preferably in a college or university. Must have working knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other federal and state statutes related to students with disabilities.
