The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Director of Research Compliance. The individual hired will oversee the development and management of the research compliance program. The Director will ensure that the Institution is in compliance with mandated regulations that involve research using human and animal subjects, animal care and use, and biohazardous materials by utilizing comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines. Duties include interpreting federal regulations and guidelines to ensure research compliance, developing and implementing institutional policies and procedures and creating and maintaining a variety of communication channels throughout the university.
The successful applicant has a Master’s degree and demonstrated experience developing and implementing policies and procedures. Must have knowledge of federal grant compliance issues, computer skills including word processing and database management, and a strong sense of attention to detail. Experience in a university, research center or institute, government organization, or non-profit agency is preferred.
