Please note: Tuition Waiver/ Remission / Fee Benefits are NOT applicable at UMass Medical School and the UMass School of Law.
Full-time employees, spouses, domestic partner and dependent children (through age 25) meeting eligibility and admission requirements will receive a 100% tuition waiver per semester for regularly scheduled courses at any UMASS campus (excluding the MD program at UMass Medical School and the UMass School of Law).
Part-time benefited employees, employed at least 50% (half) time, may receive up to seven tuition-free credits per semester when eligibility and admission requirements are met.
Courses taken through University Extension will receive a 50% tuition waiver.
UMass Dartmouth employees are eligible for tuition remission for courses offered at any Massachusetts Public Higher Education college and university (excluding the MD program at UMass Medical School and the UMass School of Law).
- Full-time employees, their spouses and unmarried dependent children (through age 25) meeting eligibility and admission requirements will, after six (6) months of continuous service, receive 100% tuition remission for regularly scheduled courses and 50% tuition remission for Continuing Education courses.
- Part-time employees (employed at least 50% time, with at least six (6) months of full-time equivalent service), their spouses and unmarried dependent children (through age 25) are eligible for a 50% tuition remission for regularly scheduled courses and a 25% remission for Continuing Education courses.
Note - all fees, books and other course materials are the employee's responsibility.
Fee Waiver (Effective Fall 2015 Semester)
Effective Fall 2015 semester, eligible full and part‐time undergraduate spouses and dependents of active benefited employees (full or part-time) at a UMass University shall be eligible to have a maximum of fifty percent (50%) of curriculum/operating fees waived. Full time employee eligibility begins the semester following the completion of two years of full‐time equivalent benefited service at any of the UMass Campuses or UMass System Office.
Part‐time benefited employees are eligible for a waiver in the semester following the completion of four years of part‐time equivalent benefited service at any of the UMass Campuses or UMass System Office. Part‐time shall be defined as a regular schedule of half‐time the normal number of hours for that position. Individuals must be eligible for benefits under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement or personnel policies.

Collective barganing agreements may slightly alter eligibility requirements. If you are a member of a bargaining unit, please review your union contract for more information.
All forms should be completed and sent to the Human Resources Office for approval. Once approved, you will be able to submit it to the respective campus for proper credit.
