Tenure Track Faculty Position

The Department of Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications for a full time, nine-month, tenure track faculty position, starting September 1, 2013. Primary responsibilities include team teaching didactic and laboratory aspects of Medical and Clinical Hematology to undergraduate students.

Teaching responsibilities shall include other appropriate course assignments (primary instructor, team teaching, course coordinator) in our highly integrated (freshman through senior) clinical laboratory science program and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) programs. Non-teaching responsibilities include scholarly activities (including professional publication), as well as service to the academic community or public service.

Graduate degree (doctorate preferred) in clinical laboratory science or related discipline, national professional certification recognized by the department, evidence of continuing professional development, ongoing professional development, excellent communication skills and a proven record as an active team participant are essential. Essential job functions require ability to lift minimum of 25 lbs. (bench top laboratory equipment), good vision to utilize laboratory microscopes and excellent dexterity for detailed lab testing procedures. Teaching experience, familiarity with current educational and teaching methodologies, experience in the administration of NAACLS-approved MLS programs and active leadership and participation in professional organizations are preferred. Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
