Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program
The College of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the DNP program for the academic year 2013-2014.
The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate in Nursing, or related field and must be eligible for RN licensure in Massachusetts. Candidates must have experience as a certified nurse practitioner and have a successful record of teaching at the graduate level. In addition, the preferred candidate must have a program of research with the ability to secure funding and participate in community outreach. Previous graduate teaching preferred. Salary will be highly competitive with an appointment in either the Adult & Child Nursing or Community Nursing Department.
The College of Nursing admitted students to a new PhD program in Nursing in the fall 2008. The PhD program characteristics include a unique focus on the advancement of nursing science in the care of people with chronic illness. In addition, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program was recently approved with students being admitted in fall 2011.
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is located in the beautiful ocean side community of North Dartmouth, about an hour south of Boston, half hour east of Providence and half hour west of Cape Cod. The College of Nursing has approximately 30 full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in two Departments; Adult and Child Health and Community Nursing. The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has an enrollment of over 8,000 students in over 40 undergraduate and 23 graduate programs offered by the College of Nursing, Charlton College of Business, College of Arts and Science, College of Visual and Performing Arts, School of Education, Public Policy & Civic Engagement, and School for Marine Science and Technology.
