Full Time Lecturer/Studio Arts Foundations Director
The College of Visual and Performing Arts invites applications and nominations for the position of Full Time Lecturer/Studio Art Foundations Director. Appointment will begin September 1, 2013, The Director supports the college by working together with other members of the CVPA Dean’s Office staff and the Chairs and Directors Council to oversee all matters relating to first-year studio arts instruction. The Director acts in cooperation with the visual arts departments in CVPA and with select University offices, including but not limited to the Office of Admissions, the Registrar's Office, the Office of Housing & Residential Education, and the Honors, Pathways, and College Now programs. This full-time lecturer position is a nine-month renewable appointment that reports to the Dean.
Minimum Qualifications: MFA or similar graduate level degree in the visual arts, or commensurate experience; experience in teaching at the college or university level with evidence of first-year course instruction in Studio Arts Foundations; ability to teach in one of the visual arts disciplines in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with budgets and supervising student assistants; ability to effectively represent the program to all constituencies on and off campus.
