System Administrator - Learning Systems and Security
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the overall administration and management of University enterprise-wide MS Windows server and UNIX/Linux technology with a focus on implementing and coordinating security controls and on online learning systems to include the Virtual Computer Lab, management of associated storage of lecture capture video and learning objects. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for management of Microsoft Active Directory (20K+ users and 2.5K+ workstations), enterprise backup, centralized storage and resource sharing (i.e. 130+TB SAN/NAS), as well as email and calendar collaboration technologies (e.g. Zimbra.) Monitoring systems and logs for any issues pertaining to system performance and security. Works closely with both the Windows and UNIX/linux System Administrators. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
EXPERIENCE: Significant experience in managing and supporting MS Windows server and UNIX/linux environments. Experience with storage management and virtualization technologies. Demonstrated supervisory and project management experience.
OTHER: Will need to be available for off-hours, evening and/or weekends as projects dictate. Will need to lift and move technology equipment. Some travel may be required.
