LIBRARY ASSISTANT
(Circulation Manager)

Responsible for the overall administration and management of the day to day activities related to providing quality services to faculty, staff, students and community users needing the services provided by the Access Services department which include circulation, traditional reserves, electronic reserves, copyright compliance for library purposes, general book shelving and AV materials shelving.  Coordinates and oversees related projects.  Develops, implements and communicates policies and procedures authorizing exceptions as appropriate.  Assists in the development of facility expansion plans for the department.  Supervises Library Assistants and student assistants in providing appropriate services. Trains staff members on all aspects of tasks to be performed.  Schedules all staff members for circulation desk staffing.  Evaluates appropriate Access Services support staff members.  Hires, trains, schedules, supervises, evaluates and fires student assistants for library Access Services division.
