Rationale
Business schools across the country are being challenged to prepare students to function in an increasingly global business environment. America's competitiveness in international markets is being challenged by Japan, the European Union and other nations and regions growing in economic power. It is mandatory for educators to develop effective pedagogies designed to instill an international perspective in students. One of the ways of achieving this is through the annual overseas study program sponsored by the Charlton College of Business. This intensive experience integrates prior course work in international business, political science, economics, marketing, finance and cross-cultural communications with practical international business experience and cultural immersion to produce students who are better prepared to assume future leadership roles in business and industry.
