Mr. S. P. Saraswat
Biodata
Satya Prakash Saraswat is a professor of Computer Information Systems at Bentley College, Waltham. Before joining Bentley in 1986, he was Associate Professor of Management Information Systems at San Diego State University. Dr. Saraswat holds a Ph. D. in Business Administration and Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS) degrees from Georgia State University, MBA from Murray State University, and BS (Chemical Engineering) from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute in India. He has published fifty research papers on topics ranging from telecommunications policy and trans-border data flow to ethics and philosophy of information systems.
Professor Saraswat learned Sanskrit language, including Panini's grammar and Pingala's system of meters, in India, and has been studying the Rig-Veda, Upanishads, and Bhagavad-Gita on his own for twenty years from a scientific perspective. He also practices meditation on the mystical meaning of the Rig-Veda and lectures on Hindu scriptures in the Indian community of Boston area. Although his passion is Sanskrit, his hobby is astronomy and he tries to connect the two in his discourses.
