Parents AssociationThe Parents Association is a supportive team of parents, university staff and students with a common goal of ensuring the best educational opportunities for all students at UMass Dartmouth. The goal of the Parents Association is to involve parents in University activities and provide them with an ongoing means of communication between UMass Dartmouth and its parent constituency. Parents are encouraged to attend Parent Association meetings and other UMD activities during the academic year. What Is The Parents Fund?It is the fund raising arm of the Parents Association, which raises funds from parents of current and graduated students to support the association's activities. The Parents Fund also provides resources for projects, programs, and campus life requirements, which are not fully funded by the normal state budget. Private support is needed to keep UMass Dartmouth broadening its margin of excellence in education. In the past, awards from the Parents Association have made a critical difference in the lives of UMD students. Grants have been awarded for student sculpture exhibitions, library support, student publications, book funds, and public safety/crime prevention promotions.
