Dining services

The UMass Law campus features a full-service cafe located in the downstairs student lounge. Run by Chartwells, the cafe offers an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as between-class snacking.

Attractively decorated, the lounge features ample, comfortable seating, as well as an attentive, helpful staff. The law cafe is a great place to meet with your study group, catch up on your reading, or simply take a breather from your busy class schedule.

Hours of Operation

The Law School Cafe will open for the academic year on Monday, August 17. 

Monday-Thursday: 9am - 8pm
Friday-Saturday: 9am - 1pm

UML Cafe‌The law school cafeteria serves coffee, donuts, muffins, bagels, and other pastries for breakfast every morning.

The lunch menu consists of sandwiches, salads, and soups every day.

For those students taking night courses, the cafeteria also serves microwavable dinners including macaroni and cheese, chicken parmesan, broccoli chicken alfredo, and other selections.

The law school cafeteria also serves juice, soda, energy drinks, water, candy, and other snacks.

Places to relax

The law school student lounge is a place where students can come to relax betweeen classes and socialize with their classmates. The lounge is a great place to meet with study groups or student clubs‌and‌ organizations, or simply unwind after a long day of law work.

UML Lounge

The student lounge is open during regular law school hours:Located on the ground floor of the law school campus, the lounge features comfortable seating, flat screen TVs, and a lively, comfortable environment in which law school students can relax and socialize.

Monday-Thursday: 7:30 am - Midnight
Friday: 7:30 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Sunday: 11:00 am - Midnight

Places to unwind

The law school student lounge also features a small game room with ping pong tables, a pool table, and lockers where students can store their belongings while they unwind in the student lounge. Lounges are a great place to take a break from classes and exams, study, or meet and get to know other law students.

Lockers are also open to students who are not using the student lounge but who would like to store any belongings they might not want to take with them to class.

There is also a lounge area in the main lobby of the law school that features comfortable plush couches and a quiet area for students to study, read, or just relax between classes.

Places to study

If a quiet study area is what you're looking for, the law school's extensive law library has plenty of open desk spaces for students to study and read between classes, as well as areas for group study sessions.
