Julian Pinto, JD '17: Fusing theory and practice

Julian Pinto, JD '17 was offered a job after he applied the skills he learned at UMass Law to his private litigation internship.

The value of practical knowledge

What I appreciate about UMass Law is the hands-on approach. At the end of my second year, I was given the opportunity to intern at a local firm doing private litigation. They've asked me to stay on since then and work for them upon graduation.

I've had lots of friends and colleagues here who have had similar experiences with district attorney's offices and private firms. It really stresses the importance of the practical approach here at UMass Law.

I feel better prepared going out into the workforce as an attorney. Being able to apply practical knowledge in a real-world setting is invaluable.
