Stress Less!

College students consistently indicate that stress is the #1 impediment to academic performance.

Many UMass Dartmouth departments offer programming and services to help students manage, and reduce, their stress.

We've collected information about these on-campus programs and services, along with some helpful online resources, and posted them here.

We will update this webpage frequently. If you know of a program, service, or website that should be added to this webpage, please let us know!

  • The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all employees at no cost. As a public service, they are providing a toll-free crisis line, 1-866-342-6892, available to anyone needing emotional support related to these tragic events. For additional information and resources from the Employee Assistance Program visit https://www.liveandworkwell.com/public/.

  • In the Wake of Trauma: Tips for College Students (A publication of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Mental Health Services)

  • This website also provides helpful information on caring for yourself after a traumatic event.

  • Crisis Counseling via Phone or Text: The toll-free Disaster Distress Helpline, 1-800-985-5990, can provide immediate counseling to anyone who needs help in dealing with the aftermath of this tragedy. This free, confidential, and multilingual crisis support service is also available via SMS—text "TalkWithUs" to 66746. Callers and texters are connected to trained and caring professionals who provide confidential counseling, referrals, and other needed support services.
