About the Series
Created and launched by a faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences, Suzanne E. Joseph, the “Meet the Author” series brings authors and the wider university community together to discuss their newly published books that address social, historical, philosophical, literary or artistic issues of interest to the broader campus community. The “Board of Trustees” room was chosen as the location for the inaugural event because it is an open, inviting space that allows for stimulating conversation with colleagues, and shares the floor with the ”Wall of scholarship”, an area marking the scholarly and creative achievements of UMass Dartmouth faculty.
Faculty - want to add to the series?
We'd love to keep this series running! If you have an author that you'd like to show, start planning today. To have it advertised here, contact webdevelopment@umassd.edu at least 2-3 weeks in advance when you have a place, date and time set. You should have the following ready to go:
- Copy for the event page. Look at any upcoming or previous event to see what works for copy.
- An image of the front cover. It should be large and clear; we can scale the image down to fit.
- An ordering form for people to download, or the URL where the viewer can order the book online, if appropriate. Talk to the author to find out this information.
- Optionally, we can put up a photo of the author, should you have one and receive permission.
