Alumni Association elects board of directors

UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association elects board of directors- Announced at Annual Board Meeting on June 25, 2002 The Alumni Association of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has elected a slate of directors, as well as new officers who will serve 3 year terms beginning on July 1, 2002. The board of directors guides the Alumni Association in its work supporting the university's 30,000 alumni as well as its students, academic, cultural and regional economic outreach mission, according to Alumni Director Donald A. Berube, Esq. 84.

The Alumni Association of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has elected a slate of directors, as well as new officers who will serve 3 year terms beginning on July 1, 2002. The board of directors guides the Alumni Association in its work supporting the university’s 30,000 alumni as well as its students, academic, cultural and regional economic outreach mission, according to Alumni Director Donald A. Berube, Esq. ’84. 

Elected officers are: State Representative Michael J. Rodrigues ‘83, president; Donald Taylor ’54, Velco USA, Inc., vice president; Maryellen Morelli ’94 of Dartmouth, secretary; and Donna Grenon ’71 of North Dartmouth, treasurer. 

Elected to the board were: Benjamin Barrett ’00 of Charlestown; Brenda Bouchard ’89 of Dartmouth, an assistant professor of medical laboratory science at UMD; Susan Costa ’72 of Dartmouth, associate vice chancellor of student affairs at UMD; Jean Cote ’74 of Dartmouth; Carlos DaCunha ’87, senior relationship manager of Sovereign Bank. 

Also, Paul DeCosta ’84 of Somerset; John Alan Freeman ’58 of Fall River; Kathy Dombrowski ’03, senior class president at UMD; Roger Dugal ’70 of Somerset; Richard F. Golen ’74 of South Dartmouth, professor and assistant dean of undergraduate programs in UMD Charlton College of Business; Elizabeth Isherwood ’80 of Fairhaven, president of Moore & Isherwood. 

Also, Robert W. Lavoie ’61 of Dartmouth, retired utility executive; Norma Markey ‘54 and William Markey ’55 of Fairhaven, retired New Bedford Public School Dept.; Michael Pieroni ‘84 of Plymouth; Donald Plant ’61 of East Freetown, senior programmer/analyst, Holsmith-Cisco; James Pratt, Jr. ’89 of South Dartmouth; and Marilyn Morin Roderick ’56 of Fall River, Century 21 anchor.
