UMass Dartmouth Labor Education Center to have conference

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Labor Education Center will have its spring conference, "Making Stewards Stronger," on Saturday, May 18, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Labor Education Center will have its spring conference, Making Stewards Stronger, on Saturday, May 18, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. 

The event, co-sponsored by the Central Labor Councils of Fall River, New Bedford/Cape Cod and Plymouth Bristol, will be held in the Liberal Arts and Business Building, room 104. Parking is in lots 1 and 2. 

The day’s program will include a lunchtime presentation by Scott Molloy of the Labor Research Center at the University of Rhode Island, a performance by Class Acts of Boston, and a number of workshops. Training will be offered for new stewards, while more experienced participants will discuss topics such as leadership roles, writing and investigating grievances, the building trades, and mobilizing members around work site problems.
