Author Marie-Claire Blais to speak at UMass Dartmouth event

Marie-Claire Blais, an award-winning writer from Quebec, will be guest speaker of the Boivin Center of French Language and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Monday, April 22, at 4 p.m., in the Library's Browsing Area. Parking is in lot 13.

Marie-Claire Blais, an award-winning writer from Quebec, will be guest speaker of the Boivin Center of French Language and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Monday, April 22, at 4 p.m., in the Library’s Browsing Area. Parking is in lot 13. 

Blais will read from and discuss several of her works at the free program. She is a member of the Order of Canada, has authored more than 20 novels that have been translated into several languages, and has created plays for radio, television, and theatre. Blais is the recipient of the Prix Médicis, the Prix Belgo-Canadien, the Prix France-Quebec, and an inductee of the Royal Academy of Language and Literature of Belgium and The Académie des lettres du Quebec.
