Non-credit management, accounting and finance courses offered at UMass Dartmouth

UMass Dartmouth, through the Division of Continuing Education, will be offering courses for managers and non-managers. Courses are strategically designed to help managers enhance their management skills and augment their accounting and financial ability to help increase the profitability of any business small or large.

UMass Dartmouth, through the Division of Continuing Education, will be offering courses for managers and non-managers. Courses are strategically designed to help managers enhance their management skills and augment their accounting and financial ability to help increase the profitability of any business – small or large. 

Students can gain knowledge of the universal language of accounting and finance in UMASS Dartmouth’s new course, Finance and Accounting for Nonfinancial Managers. At a basic level, this course is designed to prepare students with general accounting knowledge and development of analytical and problem solving skills. Additionally, you will apply the financial concepts and analytical skills for use in investment analysis and financial planning. This course is designed for non-financial managers and the student can earn 3-CEU’s. Classes will be held Monday evenings from February 4 - April 22, 6:00 – 9:00 PM. 

Visionary Leadership is an interactive, two-hour seminar for business leaders seeking to build high-performance organizations driven by highly motivated, results-oriented individuals. Participants will learn how to create a work environment that fosters employee commitment, retention, and outstanding customer service - all critical to long-term survival in today's marketplace. The seminar is February 16th at UMASS Dartmouth, facilitated by Lauren L. Mackler, former leader of Andersen's People Strategy practice and VP of Organizational Development at Boston Financial. 

High-Performance Management is a two-day seminar for managers seeking to sharpen their management skills. Topics include: The Behaviors, Practices, and Skills of High-Performance Management, Individual and Organizational Barriers to High-Performance, Effective Delegation, Problem-Solving, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Coaching and Mentoring, Conducting an Effective Performance Appraisal, Defining Roles and Responsibilities, and Leading Effective Meetings. Seminar dates are March 2nd and 16th at UMASS Dartmouth, facilitated by Lauren L. Mackler, former leader of Andersen's People Strategy practice and VP of Organizational Development at Boston Financial. 

The professional development courses offered through the non-credit area of the Division of Continuing Education are designed to increase knowledge and skills to help all levels of small and large companies.
