UMass trustees approve public law school in Dartmouth
The UMass Board of Trustees approved the acquisition of the Southern New England School of Law in Dartmouth, a major step in establishing a the Commonwealth's first public law school.
Slots At Ma Tracks Will Generate $300 Million
If state leaders next year approve 1,000 slot machines at each Massachusetts racetrack, the four tracks will generate at least $300 million, according to a preliminary review by the Center for Policy Analysis (CPA) at the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth. Estimates show that the 4,000 slots will also capture $100 million from Rhode Islands two slot parlors --- Lincoln Park and Newport Grand.

Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry and Congressman Barney Frank have announced that the omnibus spending bill passed recently by Congress includes more than $5.8 million in federal funds for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth programs that will benefit southeastern Massachusetts.
